Technical specifications
ULTRAFIP 604 is a liquid alkaline caustic product formulated for degreasing stainless steel and ferrous materials. It is suitable for the removal of oils, greasy substances and carbon residues.
As the product is strongly caustic, it causes surface aggression of non-ferrous alloys such as aluminium alloys or galvanised iron. It is therefore not recommended to use ULTRAFIP 604 on these types of alloys unless a slight surface attack (priming effect) is desired for subsequent painting. The product should be rinsed thoroughly after degreasing.
The cleaning power of ULTRAFIP 604 is very high, thanks to its consistent low-foaming surfactant package.
Usage and Applications
ULTRAFIP 604 is used in spray or immersion degreasing installations under the following operating conditions:
ULTRAFIP 604 concentration: 10 - 20 gr/lt
Immersion times: 3 - 6'
Spray times 1 - 2'
The special formulation of this product also makes it suitable for ultrasonic use.

Bathroom control
Take 10 ml of the bath, place it in an Erlenmeyer flask (or beaker) and add a few drops of METILARANCY indicator.
. The solution is YELLOW in colour. Titrate with 0.1 N HCl until RED colour appears.
The ml of 0.1 N hydrochloric acid consumed in the titration indicate the total bath score and alkalinity of ULTRAFIP 604. To obtain the bath concentration in g/litre, multiply the score by the fixed factor 1.50.

Power supply
The bath must be checked periodically and maintained at the set concentration with regular additions. A continuous feed via dosing pump gives the best results.
For each missing point and for every 1000 litres of liquor add approx. 1.50 kg of ULTRAFIP 604.
Storage
The product in original packaging and stored in a suitable manner (+ 7 ÷ 35°C) has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of production. It is recommended not to store at temperatures below 5 °C to avoid freezing.
