Technical specifications
ULTRAFIP 601 is a liquid alkaline caustic product formulated for degreasing stainless steel and ferrous materials. It is suitable for removing oils, greasy substances, carbon residues. It can be used for the removal of phosphate coatings.
As the product is strongly caustic, it causes surface aggression of non-ferrous alloys such as aluminium alloys or galvanised iron. It is therefore not recommended to use ULTRAFIP 601 on these types of alloys unless a slight surface attack (priming effect) is desired for subsequent painting. The product should be rinsed thoroughly after degreasing. In order to give the product a better cleaning power against oily contaminations it is advisable to use a detergent condensate that Fiprokim Technical Service will be able to suggest according to the cycle and operating conditions.
Usage and Applications
ULTRAFIP 601 can be used by spraying or dipping under the following operating conditions:
Spray Dip
Concentration (g/l) 10-12 30-50
Temperature (°C) 30-50 30-50
Time (min) 1-2 3-10
When the product is used as a defoamer, concentrations must be between 60 and 80 g/l, with treatment times of at least 3 minutes at a temperature between 60 and 80 °C.

Bathroom control
Take 10 ml of the bath, place it in an Erlenmeyer flask (or beaker) and add a few drops of METILARANCY indicator.
. The solution is YELLOW in colour. Titrate with 0.1 N acid until the solution turns RED.
The ml of 0.1 N hydrochloric acid consumed in the titration indicate the score and total alkalinity of the bath of ULTRAFIP 601. To obtain the concentration of the bath in g/lt, multiply the score by the fixed factor 1.33.

Power supply
The bath must be checked periodically and maintained at the set concentration with regular additions. A continuous feed via dosing pump gives the best results.
For each missing point and for every 1000 litres of liquor add approx. 1.33 kg of ULTRAFIP 601.
Storage
The product in original packaging and stored in a suitable manner (+ 7 ÷ 35°C) has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of production. It is recommended not to store at temperatures below 5 °C to avoid freezing.
