METALFIP 336 is a cyanide- and chromate-free liquid product designed for uniform burnishing of brass, copper and carbon steel articles. On these materials, it enables a wide range of colours to be obtained depending on the time and concentration of use.
The package of substances used makes it possible to obtain a burnishing layer with high mechanical properties and a long service life, even of solutions.

Usage and Applications
The product should be used in solution, in minimum concentrations of 2%, up to pure, by immersion, from room temperature and up to a maximum of 35 °C.
The contact time depends on the thickness of the artefacts to be treated, the temperature of use, the finish to be obtained and the surface finish of the artefacts and varies from a few seconds to a few minutes. The final colour obtained is a function of concentration and treatment time: longer treatment time provides darker shades of colour, shorter treatments provide lighter colours.
The best results are obtained if before the burnishing treatment the surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and degreased if necessary. This also ensures a longer bath life, as impurities and pollutants are prevented from weakening the burnishing bath.
The bath must be checked and replenished periodically.
The coloured layers are delicate when still wet: before handling treated parts, proceed with drying.

Precautions
Baths containing the bath should be lined with suitable plastic material, e.g. PVC, polypropylene.
.METALFIP 336 is acidic. Precautions should therefore be taken when using an acidic product.
Avoid shocks, improper handling which may cause product spillage. Protect from frost, store away from heat sources, keep containers tightly closed.
