Technical specifications
FIPRO SG 1023 is a liquid alkaline formulation used for spray or immersion degreasing (with and without ultrasound) of iron, steel, zinc and alloys, extruded and die-cast aluminium materials prior to their chemical conversion treatment such as phosphating. The product is specifically designed to impart already at room temperature a strong emollient action on any kind of dirt or encrustation.
FIPRO SG 1023 consists of an aqueous solution of sequestering agents, polyphosphates, controlled foam surfactants and silicates.
Usage and Applications
FIPRO SG 1023 is to be used, by spraying or dipping, in an aqueous solution, under the following operating conditions:
Treatment time 3' ÷ 10'
Bath temperature 40 ÷ 80 °C
Concentration 2 ÷ 6%
Optimal use values will, in any case, be fixed by Fiprokim's Technical Service, on a case by case basis, at the time of plant start-up, depending on the quality and quantity of the foreign substances to be removed present on the surface of the material and on the type of plant itself.

Bathroom control
Bath control is done by periodic determination of free alkalinity.
. Take 10 ml of the bath and place it in an Erlenmeyer flask. Add 50 ml of demineralised water. Add phenolphthalein indicator hydroalcoholic solution. The solution will turn violet. Titrate with 0.1N acid until the pink colouration disappears. The ml of acid consumed represent the bath score.
A bath prepared at 20 g/l has a bath score of 3.7 ml.

Power supply
The liquor must be checked periodically (at least once or twice a day) and maintained at the concentration set at the time of start-up. For every 1000 litres of bath, add 5.5 kg of product.
.Storage
Take the product out at > 5 °C; if crystallisation has taken place, take it back to > 5 °C and mix it (crystallisation does not lead to any change in the chemical-physical properties of the product and therefore does not alter its performance).
