Technical features
FIPRO SG 1021 is a highly alkaline powder degreaser used in electroplating for the electrolytic degreasing of surfaces in ferrous material, before their electrodeposition treatment.
FIPRO SG 1021 consists of a mixture of caustic alkalis, alkaline polyphosphates, sequestering and complexing agents.
Usage and Applications
FIPRO SG 1021 must be used in aqueous solution, under the following operating conditions:
Treatment time 1 '÷ 3' in the cathode phase - 30 "÷ 1 'in the anodic phase
Bath temperature 20 ÷ 45 ° C
Concentration of the bath 50 ÷ 100 g / l
Current density 5 ÷ 10 A / dm2
The optimal use values will, however, be set by the Fiprokim Technical Service, case by case, during the start-up phase of the plant, according to the quality and quantity of foreign substances to be removed present on the surface of the material, of the type of material to be removed. treat and the plant itself.
BATH PREPARATION
To prepare 1000 l of bath, add 50 to 100 kg of FIPRO SG 1021 to the tank filled with water and brought to working temperature. Keep the solution under stirring until complete homogenization and check the bath.

Control of bathing
The control of the bath is carried out by determining the total alkalinity, as described below:
take 10 ml of the bath using a calibrated pipette, place them in a conical flask, dilute them with distilled water and add a few drops of methyl orange indicator. Titrate with sulfuric (or hydrochloric) acid 1 N until the color changes from yellow to red.
The number of ml of 1 N sulfuric (or hydrochloric) acid consumed for the color change provides the total alkalinity of the bath.
A bath prepared at 50 g / l has a score of approximately 11.5, while one prepared at 100 g / l has a score of approximately 23.

Alimentation
The bathroom must be checked at least once or twice a day and maintained at the concentration established at the time of start-up. If the score is lower than its initial value, add 4.3 kg of FIPRO SG 1021 to the bath for each missing point and for every 1000 l of bath.
Storage
Keep the degreasing solution free from contaminants; foaming or overflowing any impurities such as oil or dirt floating on the surface of the bath. Before filling the tank again, eliminate the deposits formed on the bottom of the tank.
